Pitch Up 2024

Pitch Up Wagga Wagga is a unique live crowdfunding event. On Thursday 21st March the Wagga community gathered to support three local grassroots organisations who help people in need across our region and raised over $51,000!

In 2024, we supported Rural Outreach Counselling, Big Brothers Big Sisters Tumut Program and Ronald McDonald House, South West NSW. The three organisations were selected by an independent panel in December 2023 and went on to receive professional pitch training ahead of the event.

This is a joint initiative with The Funding Network Australia and partnering with Macarthur Real Estate Agency and Hume Bank.

Following each organisations’ presentation at the event, a dynamic time of pledging commenced. In less than one hour a total of over $51,000 was raised. What a great outcome for three local grassroots non-profits!

There was such positive energy in the room. It was fantastic to be able to support local organisations that do so much for people in need in our community.

We give special thanks to Pyrus Event Services, Matt Beaver Photography, the Murrumidgee Turf Club, and our MC Sally Bryant from ABC Riverina for their support and contributions to make this event happen.

Here’s what our three organisations had to say after the event.

“We are in awe of the incredible support we received at the Pitch Up event...What a wonderful night it was showcasing 3 wonderful charities and the amazing community support that surrounds us! Thank you!"
Lisa Simpson, Executive Officer, RMHC South West NSW

“I am overwhelmed and humbled by the love, support and enthusiasm we received through our Pitch Up Journey! In just one night, you have shown the power of Community supporting Community… and isn’t it an AMAZING feeling!"

Chelsea Stewart, General Manager, ROC

"How incredible that there are events like these where likeminded, big-hearted people can come together and make real change happen. I am so grateful to everyone involved for providing not just Big Brothers Big Sisters, but two other deserving not-for-profits the opportunity to advocate for our work and raise serious funds towards the continuation of our programs."

Emma Peacock, Mentoring Coordinator, BBBS Tumut
