Alec Schmetzer

Cadet Accountant 
Alec joined WDF in February 2026 as a Cadet Accountant after completing his HSC in 2024, and he is currently studying a Bachelor of Accounting. Alec first had exposure to the accounting profession as he completed casual work experience placements with WDF.  

Alec is keen to explore a wide range of accounting areas and is open to developing his skills across different tasks to discover where his strengths lie. He is motivated by helping others and enjoys working with clients to support them in achieving their goals. Alec values teamwork and enjoys being part of a collaborative environment where colleagues are motivated to improve themselves and support one another.  

Outside of work, Alec is actively involved in his community and has volunteered with organisations such as Kurrajong, as well as participating in school leadership and football club events. In his spare time, he enjoys playing AFL and touch football, water skiing, following a variety of sports, and spending time socialising with friends. He also has a keen interest in cars, motorcycles, and video games.
